Two Dogs Menu Tasting

on Sun, 08/26/2012 - 12:47

We don't know what we had expected but the menu tasting at Pollock Halls defied our wildest flights of feasting fancy.

After a brief wait, Adele of the Events team escorted us to one of the original old buildings with dark wood pannels and two oil-paintings of old scholars having a staring competition (no doubt leading to the respective hidden dormitories of the Houses of Cattleprod and Knickerdrawer). In the middle was our white linin table.

Ehem, Research: Teannaich the Ceilidh Band

on Sun, 05/20/2012 - 21:42

The band that we are having at the reception plays a ceilidh most months at South Hall.  Tickets tend to sell out for good reason.

Teannaich is sock-knockoffingly amazing.

The caller makes sure everyone who wants to has people to dance with, (unless he's feeling perverse) he makes sure you know what to do, and the group mixes up the traditional music with snippets of tunes from Star Wars, Mission Impossible, Saturday Night Fever, Teletubbies, The Darkness and the like.   We danced every single dance from 8:30ish to midnight and, two days on, are feeling the pain.

Our number one tip:

Invitations! Invitations are organised!

on Wed, 03/07/2012 - 18:05

We had been putting the invites off for AGES, so Bridesmaid Rea Cris (aka Cheesy Chips, aka Crismas, aka Tai Cheese) took us in hand and made us SWEAR we would get the darned things out post haste or we wouldn't have any guests at the weddin'.  We bowed our heads and said 'Of course, you are right, Your Cheesiness,' and then, after much scheduling gymnastics (Chippy is a busy dairy product), we managed to get the bulk of them stamped and licked supafast one cold late February evening.

They are very spiffy.  We blatently copied the card from an invitation designed by some clever librarians.

Lovingly designed by the Oliphant Group (that's us)
