Can't come to Edinburgh withouth playing some golf! (though Sarah has managed admirably up til now)

We were going to do some proper research and put together an exhaustive list, but then remembered this is Scotland and we could be trawling for days.  So, we will post some links (har har) that look good and let you go nuts. Please post comments so that you golfers can organise yourselves.  Weather's still quite nice in September.

This looks like a comprehensive site http://www.scotlands-golf-courses.com/

Here's a listing of Edinburgh ones http://www.edinburgh.org/see-do/activities/golf/edinburgh-courses .  Bruntsfield Links is a free public pitch and putt near the Meadows (big park in the city) for some light practice to warm yis up.

East Lothian is quite handy and has some really nice courses: http://www.golfeastlothian.com/home.asp

And the legendary St Andrews!  Papa Stewart (pictured) had the sublime good fortune to rock up one perfect January day, hire some kit and get a tee time for a very reasonable price.  He even eagled the ninth.  We wouldn't count on his good luck.  Book ahead and remember that there are other very fine courses in St Andrews apart from the embematic Old one.  The Jubilee Course came highly recommended.  In any case, have a look around the official page and see what you can see: http://www.standrews.org.uk/

Lovingly designed by the Oliphant Group (that's us)
