About us

How we met: Sarah answered an ad on edinburgh.gumtree.com and the rest is history.

No, seriously, the interview process was rigorous and I got through thanks to some excellent advice from my mother.  Remember, girls, follow up after your interviews and always listen to your mother.  Enthusiasm is key!

The interview was for a volunteering/copywriting intern position with a Transition group for whom Rob was building a website.  We met through work...

Now, if you’re a friend or family member of the bride, you may want a bit of her back story (get to know what young Robert is letting himself in for), and vice a versa.  So, here you go:

Sarah Stewart was slapdashedly born on the 12th of March 1985 to David (Auckland, NZ) and Susan (Christchurch, NZ) Stewart. From Lower Hutt, they proceeded to Auckland where sister Amy was smoothly delivered in December 1986.  Then on to Guam, Hawai’i, American Samoa, Utah, Las Vegas and Seattle where Sarah caught her breath before continuing, at 16, to Spain (where she acquired Mami, Papi, Agueda, familia and pandi), back to Seattle, Auckland for uni (Comparative Literature), Spain again and Edinburgh via Bolivia and the Gobi Desert among other such neat-o places (blog).  She is now a very happy copywriter for Service Writing and The Oliphant group.

And now, team Sarah, here’s your dirt, ehem, information:

Robert William Oliphant Hutchison of the Glasgow Hutchisons was born in Rugby, England, to Nigel (Edinburgh, Scotland) and Lynette (Goa, India) Hutchison on the 13th of August 1979. At the tender age of two, Rob shifted with his family to Germany where he took up origami, kept a blackbird called Gutsy and was generally an older brother to Isabel, nine years his junior. Rob studied A.I. and software engineering at the University of Edinburgh and currently works as a web developer for The Oliphant Group with a number of brilliant individuals including a certain gifted copywriter.
